Our Observatory
The Chiltern Observatory was built between 1990-1996 for the benefit of all our members & guests and Woodrow High House (part of the London Federation for Young People). The Observatory houses a Meade 10-inch LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope which is permanently mounted on a concrete pier and equatorial MegaWedge.

Use of the Society's Observatory

The Society's observatory is available for members and non-members to use whenever clear skies permit. The Society has a number of "night operators" who are experienced telescope users who will open the observatory and help members to use the telescope. Observing takes place all year round whenever the weather permits it.
